The Floods

Recent rains and floods have devastated many parts of Queensland,  especially those in the Brisbane Valley.

Over 20 people have drowned in flash floods. Ipswich and Brisbane's low lying areas were inundated. Crops have been devestated. There are few producers selling their own at the markets.

Here is a some footage I shot on my iphone of the marquees at the Noosa Farmers Market just at the beginning of those horrible days. This is after the first downpour.

Incredibly people came to the market in their gumboots. I decided to call it quits at 7.30am but couldn't get away til 10.30 because of people buying my cheese.

  1. Hi Trevor, your blog is delightful. I saw the article in the Courier Mail recently so I see your life has changed direction. I was a student at NSHS with you all those years ago and then in the 1990s I caught up with you when I visited Woodford SS. Don't know if you remember me...my surname was Barbagallo and it all seems so long ago...! lol
